History of Abu Dhabi

The majestic city of Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The city was born due to the advent of the ancient nomadic heard and fishing tribe called the Bani yas. The city's name is derived from the rich history of the land having heard of elegant deer's Dhabi and a man who used to chase the deer's was called Abu or father. Hence, the name caught on as ‘Abu Dhabi' literally meaning father of deer.

Abu Dhabi initially thrived on fishing, date and vegetable farming as well as pearl diving. It earned its livelihood from the trade of the above products. Then on the eve of 1958 Abu Dhabi struck gold as in liquid gold and the city swiftly however humbly advanced into the world richest city.

Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan who is affectionately known as the father of the Nation of UAE lead city of Abu Dhabi, its country and its people on the path of righteous development.
